2015 - When the final three were announced, first place was awarded to George Haig of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. This was the fifth time he has enter this contest. He took 2nd in 2005 and 1st in 2007 and 3rd in 2014. George has been playing the autoharp since 1996. He also plays some banjo and guitar. On Thursday the temperature was in the mid 90’s and when he left Scotland it was only 65 degrees. He had one request, “Could we drop the temperature by 30 degrees.”
George won the 1st Place Trophy, $175 in cash and a d’Aigle Cascade SP G-D Diatonic Autoharp by Pete Daigle of Sea Tac, WA.
