Kevin Roth

Years at Winfield:

The music of Kevin Roth continues to gain an intoxicating richness and insight that both inspires and delights. Known over the years for his innovative blend of original, folk, standards, jazz and world music, Kevin Roth's performances celebrate not only the mountain dulcimer and voice, but the richness behind the music that is all part of the "human voyage".

Kevin has recorded for Sony Music, National Geographic and Star Gazer Recordings. From 1974 – 1984 Kevin was signed as a Smithsonian/Folkways Records artist; and with a career spanning more than three decades (during which time he shared the stage with such musical legends as Odetta, Arlo Guthrie, Ola Belle Reed, Pete Seeger and Peter, Paul and Mary) Kevin’s accomplishments as a songwriter, singer, musician and abstract artist are as numerous as they are diverse.

Kevin has performed at The White House twice and has created two original folk instruments: The Soul Zither and with Luthier Ken Miller, The Guitarcimer (half dulcimer, half guitar).

Kevin offers several program options including “Kevin Roth in Concert”, an intimate evening of song that embraces the stories of our lives, and “Celebrating Fold Old and New”, a program that pays tribute to the great folk musicians of our time such as Peter, Paul and Mary, Woody Guthrie, etc. His latest adult CD with special guest Noel Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul and Mary) Between The Notes features brand new songs as well as a companion DVD of original paintings, song lyrics, and interviews. This CD has inspired yet another concert program option called “Painting Music, A Concert of Original Paintings and Songs”.
