About Some Assembly Required …
In the Far East of the fairgrounds, life is quite comfortable. The biggest group in that part of the grounds is known as “Some Assembly Required”. This group hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma and numbers about 50. They bring everything you'd ever think of… and then more. Their campsite includes a full kitchen with such luxuries as a full-sized refrigerator and a deep sink for pots and pans. They're probably the only group with a lawnmower to cut their campground front lawn! Like many camps in the Pecan Grove, they have a parachute for shade. Like a few of those camps, they have a chandelier. Unlike the others, though, there's women's underwear hanging on the chandelier. At first, it was just a place to hang lost-and-found items, but then they went shopping at WalMart to get a few sexier items to adorn the light fixture. Speaking of lost-and-found, members of this camp could be identified as they roamed the grounds by the name tag (shown at left) they wore around their necks. It says, "If lost, please return to Camp Some Assembly Required 2002 (picture of their group) Tulsa, Oklahoma". Playing for us: Pam Carleton (guitar), Scott Carleton (guitar), Lynn White (mandolin), Steve Barton (guitar), Wiley Christopher Widner.
